Why should a design firm have an art gallery?
Creating a gallery within the walls of global design firm Sasaki was a natural fit given the firm’s brand and ethos. Sasaki believes good design only happens in a spirit of collaboration and openness to different perspectives.
My team and I developed a series of exhibitions and activations that invited the design community to connect with local artists.
David Buckley Borden
Community Nature: People, Place, Practice
Multidisciplinary artist and designer David Buckley Borden’s exhibit utilized art, design, and science to draw attention to pressing ecological issues.
During his residency, Buckley Borden invited Sasaki planners and designers to co-create a design project from visioning through implementation. The collaboration emerged as a series of striking bug hotels nestled in the firm’s back garden. My team and I documented the process, sharing the progress internally and across Sasaki’s far-reaching digital platforms.

Feda Eid
Reflected
Visual artist and stylist Feda Eid created a visual story that foregrounds stunning portraits of Boston’s millennial artists and visionaries against the backdrop of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.
Originally slated to open at Sasaki in March 2020, my team and I pivoted to hosting a digital opening and discussion that welcomed members of Boston’s design and arts community.

Sasaki and The Hideo Sasaki Foundation
Hideo Sasaki 100th Birthday Celebration and Fundraiser
To honor the firm’s founder and support the non-profit established in his honor, my team decided to host a fundraiser celebrating what would have been Hideo’s 100th birthday.
My team created a specially-branded digital campaign inviting the community to attend and encouraging them to support the Hideo Sasaki Foundation. The event featured a panel discussion, custom merch, a silent auction of employee’s work, and a special exhibition of archival projects curated by the firm’s archivist.
